A Story About My Uncle’s Steam launch arrived on May 28, 2014, taking the game out of development after a year of work. Post-launch updates strengthened the Ice Cave, expanded language support with Italian, French, German, and Polish, and added useful menu and input changes.

  • Ice Cave gameplay: The October 20, 2014 update added two lit grapple-refill platforms and three Rocket Boots charges to the stalactite corridor, while an earlier update moved the starting position in Ice Cave.
  • Localization: Menus and subtitles became available in Italian, French, German, and Polish. Portuguese and Spanish entered beta, alongside translated Confirm/Cancel buttons, updated Time Trial text, and corrections to spelling and grammar.
  • Menus and controls: Level Select moved to the main menu, unlockable popups were added, and controller look sensitivity became adjustable. The Screenshot Mode command also hid UI elements for cleaner captures.
  • Save reliability: The September 30 update fixed a crash that corrupted saved games and improved the Star Haven reveal for existing saves. It also corrected the Sanctuary Grapple achievement and the main-menu best-time display.
