-
Battle-royale launch: ARK: The Survival of the Fittest Prototype included 88 Dinosaurs and Creatures Available at Launch, Summon Bosses of the ARK, custom-painted war banners, and a lootable parachute.
-
New modes and systems:
- Commander Mode let players control their dinosaur army from a bird’s-eye view and remain involved after death.
- Solo and Tribe Based Game Modes supported individual and team-based matches.
- Dynamic Ring of Death steadily compressed the battlefield, while the simplified The Island Map focused encounters around a smaller play space.
- The Dino Tier System replaced random progression with experience-based upgrades and fixed benefits.
-
Streamlined survival loop: The prototype removed inventory management, replaced harvesting with tier-based supply crates and defeated-dinosaur resources, and introduced a new taming system in which players earned tokens by killing creatures or stealing them from opponents. Rebalanced Weapons and Armor also supported the faster combat pace.
-
Balance and team-play updates: C4 and Fire/Flame Weapons Adjustments changed explosive and fire-based combat, while creature tuning affected Thylacoleo, Rhino, Triceratops, Carcharodontosaurus, and Dragon. The Overhauled UI/UX Experience, Intelligent Pinging System, and Keybinds and HUD Improvements made essential match information easier to read and team communication more direct.
