Updated Steam Version beta moved Clicker Heroes to a new game engine on Steam, with beta testing announced on November 22, 2023. The December update added Mercenary Quest rerolls, clipboard-based save handling, faster long timelapses, and clearer progression guidance beyond Zone 501.

  • Updated Steam Version: The Steam beta introduced the new-engine port, alongside Discord Rich Presence and Steam Rich Presence.
  • Mercenary Quests and Zone 501: Players could re-roll Mercenary Quests, while a new tooltip explained the increased monster health after passing Zone 501 without first transcending.
  • Save management and progression controls: Imports and exports automatically read from and wrote to the clipboard; export filenames gained local date-and-time stamps; players could toggle those timestamps, adjust multi-leveling to every Nth level, and quickly scroll the zone selector by holding its buttons.
  • Clan systems and localization: Immortal raid progress locks became clearer for clan leaders, Clan Chat gained improved language support and more precise wait-time messaging, and German, French, Russian, Korean, and Japanese translations were updated. A language-selection prompt and improved non-English font readability also shipped, while long timelapses completed substantially faster.

New Raid System and the Revamped Clans System reshaped Clicker Heroes’ multiplayer progression on May 20, 2020. The update introduced Rogue, Mage, and Priest raid classes, Immortal progression, and a broader set of clan-management tools.

  • Raid progression: The new raid framework centered on Immortals, with several connected features:
    • Immortal Souls: Raids rewarded Rubies and Immortal Souls, which increased a player’s level and damage per click against Immortals.
    • Rogue, Mage, and Priest: Players chose one of three classes for raids.
    • Bonus Fights: Players purchased additional Immortal fights with Rubies after completing an Immortal.
    • Immortal Locking: Clan Masters stopped automatic progression of Immortal fights.
    • Check-In: Players claimed rewards even after an Immortal had died.
  • Revamped Clans System: The complete clan overhaul added new features and a redesigned clan-management experience.
    • New Clan Tab UI: The clan tab improved communication and management.
    • Legacy Raids: The former raid system moved into the new interface under the Legacy Raids name.

  • Gameplay corrections: The HZE Limit Bug no longer blocked clan-roster progress beyond 1,000,000, while the Autoclicker Damage Bug stopped Autoclickers from damaging Immortals after their timers expired.

Clickmas Returns brought back the holiday event with Spiked Nog, Label Maker, special mercenaries, and quests on December 2, 2017. The same major update added Xavira, Cadu and Ceus, The Maw, and Yachiyl, while expanding Clicker Heroes’ Outsider and transcendence systems.

  • New heroes and Outsiders: Xavira, Cadu and Ceus, The Maw, and Yachiyl joined the hero roster. Rhageist, K’Ariqua, Orphalas, and Sen-Akhan expanded the Outsider system.
  • Progression overhaul: Transcendence received faster Transcendent Power growth and no maximum Transcendent Soul reward. Solomon was removed, Pluto returned, Outsider costs became linear, and transcending automatically triggered an ascension that added the sacrificed Hero Souls.
  • Timelapse and achievement expansion: The 168-hour Timelapse option became purchasable for 50 rubies, while new achievements covered 1,000, 10,000, and 100,000 Ancient Souls plus zones 100,000, 250,000, and 1,000,000. Ancient Souls and Zone Completion also gained dedicated milestones.
  • Clickstorm and scaling rebalances: Clickstorm changed from a flat +10 CPS to a temporary +1 Auto Clicker, or +2 when Energized. Borb grew by 12.5% per level, Kumawakamaru approached an eight-monster reduction per zone instead of 100, monster-per-zone scaling slowed sharply, and the ruby-clickable limit disappeared. Quick Ascension rewards stopped growing beyond zone 1,000,000.
  • Skill and automation refinements: Auto Clickers gained exponentially stronger clicks and bonuses after four were placed, while reactivating an active skill extended its Energized state. Automatic Ascending, skill time-remaining tooltips, and the expanded Stats Panel made long ascension and skill-management loops easier to track.

Transcendence arrived on June 10, 2016, adding a post-zone-300 progression layer in which players sacrificed Ancients, Hero Souls, Relics, Forge Cores, and Gilds for Ancient Souls and Outsider upgrades. Later, Auto Clickers and five legendary heroes expanded both automation and combat progression.

  • Transcendence: Players gained Ancient Souls from Transcending, fed them to the Outsiders for improved idle bonuses and Solomon effects, and earned exponentially increasing Hero Soul rewards from each successive Primal Boss. Ancients also became upgradeable indefinitely, while Iris, Khrysos, Pluto, and Thusia were removed for transcended players.
  • Auto Clickers and Legendary Heroes: Auto Clickers automated hero leveling, skill activation, and monster clicking, became purchasable with Rubies, and gained support from the Nogardnit, Ancient of Moderation. Five new legendary heroes also joined the roster.
  • Timelapse and offline progression: Timelapse began advancing zones as well as time, while offline heroes continued through zones until reaching a boss they could not defeat.
  • Merry Clickmas!: The Merry Clickmas! event added the Present Panic! minigame, Clickmas Presents containing Rubies and Relics, and a fifth Mercenary quest for retrieving presents. Players also gained the option to salvage their Junk Pile when Ascending.
  • Settings and player support: The New Settings interface separated sound-effect and low-quality toggles, while the enhanced Stats panel added Ascension and Transcension data with CSV export. Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Indonesian, and Thai support also arrived.
