The Definitive Edition upgrade gave players who had previously played Creativerse’s free version a free upgrade to The Definitive Edition on June 6, 2023. The biggest follow-up additions were the Vending Machine, World Creation Wizard, and March’s Monster Blocks and arcade content.

    • Arcade Cabinets: Added Processor, Forge, Crafting, and Cooking variants, plus a plain Retro Arcade Carpet variant with multiple shapes.
    • Monster drop recipes and figurines: Added recipes for drops from mobs such as Miru and Thing, six figurines including Ghost Figures and Pumpkiru, and the Pointed Hat pet item.
  • World controls and protection: Crop Growth Settings and Mining Time Settings gave creators more control over world pacing, while World Backups let players request backups for nearly every world they created. The Overhauled Settings Menu also added permanent post-processing options such as depth of field and color grading.

Creativerse: The Definitive Edition launched on December 6, 2022, converting Creativerse into a pay-once-play-forever package with all content included. It also delivered player-hosted multiplayer, nearly 300 new blocks and items, expanded world templates, and a streamlined progression path.

  • The Definitive Edition foundation: Players hosted their own worlds, joined friends directly, and used a web admin interface to manage players and world settings. Premium recipes and consumables moved into gameplay rewards after the in-game store was removed.
  • World-building expansion: Creativerse added nearly 300 blocks and items, more than two dozen world templates, and fine-tuning options for gameplay mechanics. The Mailbox Tool enabled messages between players, while Rocket Packs appeared in lava and corruption-layer treasure and became repairable.
  • Creator commands and tools: The April 2023 update added /npcrange, /grid, and /mirror, while /poly received a major overhaul. Players also edited local worlds from the Local tab, changed Forge, Processor, and Extractor crafting timers, and used new costume and craft-unlocking commands.
  • Combat, crafting, and loot rebalancing: Combat Stat Rebalancing adjusted weapon, armor, mob, and explosive values, while Loot Rebalancing revised treasure chests, mob drops, and ranching rewards. TNT and excavator costs were reduced, QBit treasure drops increased, and treasure tiers received more distinct loot with better drop chances.
  • Creatures and collectibles: Thing gained collectible figures, including six common and three rare variants, while Reaudolph and Troggington became tamable. The Year of the Rabbit Lantern and other missing “Year of…” lanterns also joined the decoration lineup.
  • Sound and presentation: The Creativerse Soundtrack released as a 54-track collection of original and remastered music. Visual updates refreshed template map images and block masks, and the maximum view radius increased from 16 to 24.

Pumpkiru’s Candy Campaign returned with idol-triggered combat events, candy recovery, and Halloween recipes and costumes. Elfi’s Winter Wonderland also returned with Troggington thefts, Trog Traps, and festive rewards, while June added Captain No Beard’s pirate gear and ship-building blocks.

  • Pumpkiru’s Candy Campaign: The Halloween event delivered several ways to fight, collect, and spend candy.
    • Combat Events with Idols: Players placed idols to trigger solo or cooperative battles for more candy and higher-level idols.
    • Halloween Costumes and Recipes: The Great Pumpkiru traded recovered candy for costumes, consumables, and haunted recipes.
    • Daily Login Rewards: Daily rewards supplied additional candy and idols, while spooky screenshots appeared as loading screens.
  • Elfi’s Winter Wonderland: The winter event returned with Troggington stealing toys and a broader festive reward loop.
    • Trog Traps: Players captured Troggington and retrieved presents.
    • Daily Login Treasure Chests: Daily chests provided another way to recover presents.
    • Festive Items and Recipes Catalog: Elfi offered festive items and recipes in exchange for returned presents.
  • Pirate Building Additions: The June content drop expanded the store and construction options.
    • Captain No Beard Pirate Costume: The pirate-themed costume became available in the store.
    • Ship Wood Blocks: New craftable ship wood pieces entered the crafting and creator menus.
    • Sail Slab Plain and Sail Slab Corner: The two new sail slab variants expanded ship builds.

  • People’s Build-Off: Morning vs. Night Contest: Community building and screenshot contests added new participation targets.

Villagers became Creativerse’s standout addition, bringing customizable NPCs, a placeable Programmable Villager item, and jobs such as Talker, Miner, Logger, Chef, and Researcher. The system expanded with Gardener, Machinist, Repairer, and Rancher roles, while the QBits Construction Tool sped up blueprint building.

  • Villager expansion: Treasure Hunter and Potion Maker joined the job roster, followed by Blacksmith, Explosives Expert, Toolmaker, and Outfitter roles. Updated Treasure Chests supplied Villager Upgrade Chips, and new special creatures supported villager tasks.
  • Building and automation: QBits Construction Tool enabled bots to build blueprints, while Memory Gate, Random Number Generator, Counter, Inventory Sensor, Automated Chest, Math Gate, Arc Portal, and Arc Beacon expanded programmable construction. Blueprint Kits also shifted to QBits and received lower prices.
  • World and crafting additions: Garden Party content added Wild Bamboo, Big Pokey Cactus, Prickly Pal Cactus, Desert Succulent, Mirror Grass, Honey Bee, Butterfly, Night Fly, and Moth. The Dishes cooking category introduced recipes such as Exquisite Roast Bird and Heavenly Baked Hog, while Parroki became a new warm-biome foe.
  • Gear and building themes: Dragons Fury Sword, Torch the dragon companion, Gilded Blocks, the Dynasty Outfit, and Western-themed blocks and costumes broadened combat, collecting, and creative options. The Living Room Bundle added furniture including the Coziest Couch, Fancy Fireplace, Golden Granny Chair, and multiple rugs.
  • Events and gameplay changes: Pumpkiru turned candy corn into event recipes, while Garden Party Madness, QBits Construction Co. Headquarters, The Great Golden Build-Off, and INSIDE / OUTSIDE Build-Off gave builders themed challenges. Rocket Pack stamina consumption was removed in Creative Mode, and Speed Potion became Stamina Regeneration Potion.

Creative Worlds arrived with Creative Camera Tools and Paintable Blocks, giving Creativerse builders a more flexible creator-focused sandbox. The new world type provided infinite items, flight, and hovering, while camera filters and block recoloring expanded how players built and shared projects.

  • Creative Worlds: Pro members gained the ability to create and customize Creative Worlds, while Creative Camera Tools added screenshot filters and a drone camera. Paintable Blocks let players recolor blocks and items and create custom swatches.
  • Atlantis Block Set: The Karrotfish appeared in larger bodies of water, and defeating the creature unlocked Atlantis content, including the Atlantis Wall, Atlantis Door, and other blocks. Ocean Potion improved underwater speed and breathing, while the Atlantis Bonus Bundle added ten recipes for Creativerse Pro members.
  • Retro Block Set: The April content drop added 11 blocks and seven decorations, alongside the Super Block Hero Costume, Super Retro Pickaxe, Super Retro Hammer, and Power Gauntlet. Plant Bomb and Un-Plant Bomb also expanded build-site editing.
  • Arc Vault: This account-bound inventory system let players access stored items in any world. The same release added the Rocket Pack, Beam of Orion Sword, Bone Broth, Baby Leafi, and the Galactic Hunter Outfit.
  • Creator Mode: Mob Summoners let builders place any mob on their quickbar and spawn it into the world. Creative Worlds also gained throwable-item support, sensors, a separate Copy action, and a no-fog custom-world option.
  • Community events and engine work: The Weekend Underwater Build-a-Thon Spectacular and Group Photo Celebration Event rewarded player creations, while the Unity Upgrade improved garbage collection and addressed persistent stuttering.

    • 2018 Holiday Event — Elfi’s Wonderland! tasked players with recovering Elfi’s stolen toys for festive rewards, including more than 20 holiday recipes.
    • The Great Pumpkiru Returns brought back candy recovery, seasonal recipes, items, and costumes such as the Leafi Head Mask and Pigsy Head Mask.
    • Year of the Pigsy Event added plum blossom and pig lantern recipes through Pigsy and pigsy-like mob drops.
  • Systems and balance: Improved Stamina Regeneration made recovery percentage-based, Ghost Mobs Tame-able and Spawnable expanded creature options, and Rebalanced Blueprint Kit Prices reduced costs; the Unity 2018 upgrade also brought new graphics-quality settings and engine-related performance improvements.

Blueprint System Overhaul reshaped Creativerse’s building tools on July 25, 2017, adding Steam Workshop support, blueprint publishing, capture stones, improved placement controls, and unlimited community-made designs. Questing and Badges System later added Codex quests, cross-world progress, loot, and permanent character upgrades, while the 64-bit Unity upgrade improved stability and reduced memory-related crashes.

  • Blueprint System Overhaul: Players captured small, medium, and large blueprints with Capture Stones, published creations directly to Steam Workshop, used Burst Fill for faster construction, previewed other players’ unactivated blueprints, and crafted all blueprint cornerstones for free.
  • Questing and Badges System: The Codex introduced quests, loot, Badge Upgrades, and QB as a mentor; quest progress carried across worlds, while badges granted perks such as critical melee hits and auto-healing.
  • Building and store content: The Industrial Block Set added 26 premium recipes and free industrial recipes, while Forbidden City Bundle supplied seven themed recipes and processed variants.   • Seasonal events: Pumpkiru’s Candy Campaign brought dynamic Halloween challenges, Haunted Idols, candy rewards, seasonal potions, and costumes. Elfi’s Toy Drive added Troggington encounters, Trog Traps, holiday recipes, Frost blocks, and the unlockable Snowball Turret.
  • Systems and gameplay: The 64-bit Unity upgrade addressed memory crashes and ended 32-bit Windows support; the world claim limit rose to 5,000, corruption could be disabled globally or per claim, and pet taming, washing, and harvesting times were cut in half.
