Sinkhole joined Depth as a new community-created map from Fishy, alongside the substantial Containment map addition. The game also introduced Seasonal Leaderboards and a shortened Remix Event, while free Phantom and Osseus cosmetics added new rewards.
- Maps: Sinkhole added a new community-made arena, while Containment brought a new Blood and Gold map with revised visuals, extra gold, fewer shark entry points, new treasure-pickup models, and an additional ammo box and medkit location.

- Bigeye Thresher: The new shark knocked back prey before delivering its killing blow, supported by dedicated knockback mechanics and the Deadeye Bigeye Thresher skin. The Legendary Bull Shark skin also added a kill-based visual upgrade.
- Haywire 3.0: Teams fought for control around S.T.E.V.E., with the first side to reach three points winning. The event added shark-position opportunities, bonus Gear for victories, and a Gear-and-Treasure reward system that replaced Crafting Tokens.

The anniversary release also introduced the Bull Shark and P.A.T., while later updates added the Breach map and Crash Course tutorial.
- Anniversary roster and gear: Viktor joined the diver roster, the Bull Shark added a new shark with an Enrage ability, and P.A.T. provided an automated rifle turret with motion sensing and shark tagging. The release also added the Battle Scarred Bull Shark skin and Digital Ice & Fire Weapon Skin Pack.
- Breach update: Breach introduced a treasure-hunting map where sharks could breach and beach themselves by lunging from the water. The update also expanded Blood and Gold matches to eight Divers and four Sharks for a limited time, added 65 shark and weapon skins, and opened an East Asia matchmaking region with Tokyo servers.

- Hide & Seek let one shark hunt divers, with eliminated divers joining the shark team.
- Station and Temple expanded the map pool with an abandoned pumping station and an Aztec-themed underwater site.
- New sharks, divers, and gear: Mako, Tiger, Hammerhead, and Thresher expanded the shark roster; Finn and Shelly became playable divers. The LJ-10 Volleyjet, Medkit, Welder, and Shark Shield added new offensive, defensive, and repair options.
- New progression systems: Every shark gained a unique active ability upgradeable with Evolution Points, alongside evolutions including Vitalized Frenzy, Killer Instinct, and Serrated Teeth. The Randomized Treasure System changed objective locations between matches, while StubbsCare added free Medkits and diver health bars.
- Combat and balance: STEVE Damage & Repair Mechanics were reworked around fixed shark-size damage, with health regeneration removed. Great White became slower but more powerful at close range, while Aim Down Sights and expanded weapon modifiers gave divers more control over their loadouts.
- Creation and platform support: Depth Ed shipped as a map-and-mod editing suite, followed by an updated Depth SDK. The game also added a 64-bit version, full controller support, and persistent Lifetime Leaderboards.
