Dishonored 2’s Free Trial opened the first three campaign missions on April 6, letting players choose Emily Kaldwin or Corvo Attano. November’s PC updates followed with stronger frame-rate controls and substantial rendering and performance tuning, while March’s update sharpened a few usability and presentation details.
- Free trial: The Dishonored 2 Free Trial let players play the opening three missions as either Emily Kaldwin or Corvo Attano.
- PC performance and settings: The November 21 update added a customizable FPS limiter, a 120 FPS cap, TAA Sharpness, additional V-Sync options, improved CPU-core utilization, reduced stuttering, and addressed AMD cloth-simulation frame-rate drops. The November 30 update improved Shadow Quality and reduced the performance cost of transparent surfaces and visual effects, while setting the FPS limiter to 60 by default.
- Stealth and usability: The March 21 update added an option to hide the quick-select dock and brightened the Bloodthirst post-process effect. It also fixed the “Clean Hands” achievement incorrectly counting sabotage of the Oraculum as two kills, alongside targeted issues involving New Game+, Long Day in Dunwall, Doppelgänger, Springrazor traps, Gravehound smoke, and Clockwork Soldiers.
