Enter the Gungeon

A major April 5, 2019 content drop added Paradox, a second secret character, a new secret area with its own boss, and more than 35 guns and items. The March 17, 2020 update then delivered new Gungeon rooms and elevators, additional enemies, minigames, and a significant combo-system overhaul.

• April 2019 content: Paradox and the second secret character became playable, while items such as Fat Line and Ticket to the Gun Show expanded the arsenal. Rainbow Mode also added rainbow chests to every floor, and the alternative costumes were completed.
• March 2020 dungeon refresh: The Gungeon received redesigned rooms with greater size and variety, alongside new foes including Minecart Shotgun Kin, Bullet Cardinal, and Flying Fungun. Character-specific hats and redesigned minigames with NPC interactions added more activity between runs.
• Combo and combat changes: The Combo System made better guns appear faster and increased money rewards for sustained runs. Enemy spawn rates were rebalanced, the overall challenge increased, and a broad gun-and-item buff pass made red chests more reliable.
• Player-facing refinements: Ammonomicon entries made hidden item features clearer, while boss health bars became transparent when players stood beneath them. The update also fixed the excessive Wall Mimics bug and improved performance, particularly on Switch.

PAYDAY 2 crossover added new crossover content to Enter the Gungeon. Its playable additions centered on three items: the drill, bank bag, and PAYDAY 2 mask.
