Evolve Stage 2

Behemoth and the Tier 4 Hunters formed the biggest content drop, adding the Behemoth monster, Torvald, Crow, Slim, and Sunny on March 31, 2015. Arena Mode, Hunt 2.0, and several later roster additions broadened Evolve’s monster-versus-hunter lineup.

• Behemoth and Tier 4 Hunters: Behemoth arrived with abilities such as Lava Bomb, while Torvald, Crow, Slim, and Sunny filled the Assault, Trapper, Medic, and Support roles. Observer Mode also let players watch and commentate on matches.
• Maps and modes:
  • Broken Hill Mine and Broken Hill Foundry added two free environments with mining and industrial themes.
  • Arena Mode introduced life-or-death cage matches, later receiving the dedicated Murder Pits map.
  • Observer Mode gained better match information, including Trapper dome indicators and a minimal viewing mode.
• Roster additions:
  • Lennox joined as the fourth Assault character, using a melee attack and specialized equipment.
  • Jack joined the Trapper roster with dual pistols and a hacked Survey Satellite.
  • Emet brought the Replay Cannon, Healing Buoys, and Respawn Beacon to the Medic class.
  • Wasteland Maggie added fire-based gear, including a flamethrower-equipped Daisy, while Tech Sgt. Hank used the Orbital Drill and Shield Charger.
  • Kala Kapur arrived as a Support character with Siren Missiles, Armor Reducer, and Teleport Pads.
• Hunt 2.0 and balance: Hunt 2.0 overhauled matchmaking, separated Monster- and Hunter-only play, blocked joining matches in progress, and revamped leaderboards. The August balance pass also retuned Monster abilities, Hunter jetpacks, fast-deploying domes, and characters such as Bucket, Torvald, Behemoth, Wraith, Kraken, and Hyde.
• Events and rewards: Arctic Hunt added community missions and exclusive Hunter skins, while the Goliath Voodoo, Hyde vs. Wraith Throw Down, Val Predator, and The Beard and The Brains challenges awarded themed Predator and Voodoo cosmetics.
