Bright Lord DLC support arrived on February 17, 2015, after Lord of the Hunt DLC support was integrated in December. The game also added Lithariel’s Trials of War: Test of Defiance, a demanding one-life challenge, alongside Photo Mode and several PC-focused improvements.

  • DLC support: Bright Lord DLC support was added and required slightly higher system specifications than the Main Game Campaign. Lord of the Hunt DLC support was also integrated, with later fixes preserving the Orc Hunter Rune when restarting the expansion.
  • Challenge content: Lithariel’s Trials of War: Test of Defiance required players to kill six Warchiefs and 15 Captains with only one life and no saving. The update also added the Lithariel Skin and the Defiant to the End Epic Rune, which granted an additional last chance.
  • Photo Mode: Photo Mode was added on October 17, 2014, giving players a dedicated way to capture Shadow of Mordor’s battles. Later fixes corrected its invert-aim behavior and prevented brand sound effects from persisting after pausing.
  • PC support and gameplay corrections: Nvidia SLI Support was added, NVIDIA Adaptive Sync was used for in-game VSync, and the Screen Tearing Fix with Vsync Enabled prevented VSync from forcing a 30-frame-per-second cap. Updates also stopped duplicate Epic Runes from Dispatch and canceled Power Struggle missions, restored Power Struggles in Udûn and the Sauron’s Army screen, and limited saves to the 32 best uncollected Runes to prevent crashes.
