Mitos.is 11th Birthday Event was the biggest addition, bringing cake-collection achievements, boosted rewards and experience, and bonus Laboratory crafting. The game also gained Gems, Mass Madness, a new Purple Virus, three Superior Laboratory potions, and Halloween, Xmas, and Easter events.
- Birthday content: The Mitos.is 11th Birthday Event added Cake Collection achievements, daily Legendary and Sapphire Chests, 1,500 coins for collecting 150 cakes, new equippable items, and triple Laboratory crafts for three days after collecting 1,500 cakes.
- New systems and mode: The Gems Equipment System introduced temporary upgradable equipment that powered up during play, while Mass Madness granted 30% more mass from ejecting.
- New power-ups: The Very Rare Purple Virus granted 10,000 mass and Instant rejoin. The Laboratory also added Superior Gravity Blink, Superior Immunis Shield, and Superior Antiviral Portal Gun.
- Seasonal events:
- Halloween Event: Added Pumpkin Collection Quests, Pumpkinfier, Halloween Hat, and the Phantom, Pupkyn Lord, Cursed, and Infernal titles.
- Xmas Event: Added Tasty Snowmen Transformation, Snowball Launcher, The Grinch title, Santa’s Golden Bracelet 2025, and limited Xmas equipment.
- Easter Event: Added Eggs 2 Chocolate, Crunchy Chocobar, the I Luv Chocolate title, Easter achievements, and new limited equipment.
- Balance and competition: The Ultra Item rebalancing buffed attributes without nerfs, while the increased Virus spawn rate put more Viruses on every map. The New Season rewarded Solo, Split Party, Random Teams, OG Free For All, and OG Tournaments.

Mitos.is: The Game OG arrived on Steam as a remake of the 2016 classic, restoring the full equipment list while adding missing items, rebalanced prices, and refunds. The LIMITED COLLECTORS 10th-anniversary event and the new Gems progression systems provided the biggest reasons to return.
- Gems and progression: The Gems Equipment System introduced temporary equipment that powered up during play, while Passive Powers added a new enhancement slot. The Ultra Evolution system also rewarded Legendary Evolution progress with powerful gear and Ultra Chance bonuses.
- New modes and competition: Mass Madness debuted with a 30% bonus to ejected mass, and seasonal rotations featured SPLIT PARTY, RANDOM TEAMS, 1 VS 1, TERRITORY WAR, Battle Royale, Soccer, 2vs2, and Crazy Mode. Guild Wars Tournaments replaced the previous Guild Wars format with ranked rewards, exclusive items, and guild points.
- Equipment and balance overhaul: The Chance Attributes rework converted chance rolls on existing equipment into fixed base-stat values scaled to item level, while regular equipment lost Chance attributes entirely. The Equipment Generation Algorithm Update improved Ultra-equipment stat balance, and Pets were removed to streamline the game.
- Seasonal content: The Halloween Event, Xmas Event, Easter Event, Back-to-School Event, and Black Friday Event added themed quests, limited equipment, transformation devices, chests, titles, coins, and laboratory bonuses. The LIMITED COLLECTORS event marked the anniversary with exclusive gear.
- Economy and account changes: The BACKTOMITOSIS coupon granted up to 40,000 free coins, while the TENYEARS coupon awarded a gift based on play history. Tournament accounts also received VPN monitoring, and sharing the qw.sol file was treated as a bannable security risk.

Legendary Evolution arrived with a major progression overhaul that replaced traditional leveling with Evolutions and added Legendary items across equipment categories. 2 vs 2 Arena later introduced a team-focused mode, while the new Battle Pass expanded seasonal objectives, premium rewards, and rotating modes.
- 2 vs 2 Arena: Players formed duos through matchmaking or with friends, split and merged with teammates, and competed for the highest combined mass after five minutes. Matches began at 2,000 mass, allowed up to three potions, and halved a player’s initial mass after each respawn; Hyper Chance attributes were disabled for balance.
- Evolution progression: Legendary Evolution added a new top-tier progression stage, while Evolutions replaced leveling and a beginner-friendly mode supported players through Diamond evolution. Legendary Items arrived across equipment categories, followed by new Shields and a reworked Equip Store.
- Battle Pass: The Battle Pass introduced monthly-resetting objectives and a Premium version with exclusive rewards. Free progression added permanent Laboratory slots at Tier 3 and level 100, while Premium rotations featured Solo Mode, Capture the Flag, Soccer Mode, 1vs1, Random Team, 2 VS 2, Split Party, and Human vs Zombies.
- Competitive systems: Guild Wars Tournaments replaced the former Guild Wars format with ranked tournament rewards. Tournament access was limited to the first two sessions logged in each month, and VPN usage was monitored during tournaments.
- Seasonal events: The Xmas Event, Halloween Event, Easter Event, Mitos.is Birthday Event, and Black Friday Event delivered themed quests and rewards, including Snowman transformations, the Pumpkinfier, the Chocolizer, cake-based equipment discounts, Santa’s Golden Bracelet 2023, and Sapphire Chests.

Xmas Event launched on December 19 with candy-collecting quests, snowman transformations, special equipment, and the Santa’s Golden Bracelet. Halloween Event, Easter Event, Mitosis Birthday Event, and Mitosis Summer Event also brought rotating collections, achievements, and limited rewards, while recurring New Season launches refreshed the ranked competition.
- Xmas Event: Candy collection supported several reward paths.
- Daily Xmas Chest Quest awarded a Sapphire Chest for collecting 30 candies, while Candies for Gold Quest exchanged 500 candies for 1,000 coins.

Xmas Equipment, Easter Equipment, and other Limited Time Equipment appeared during seasonal events; Santa’s Golden Bracelet 2022 carried Rejoin 18%, Speed 19%, Eat Resistance 16%, Eat Distance 12%, and Persistence 13%.

Limited Viruses and Pills delivered the biggest gameplay addition, giving infected players 30 seconds to find a cure while rewarding successful virus use with 1,000 mass. The Limited Virus Event also introduced new virus rules, while Season 60 and a run of seasonal events kept progression and competition moving.
- Limited Virus Event: Limited viruses infected players and required a cure within 30 seconds; four pills added distinct counters and effects: Red cured infection, Yellow reset the timer, Green added sickening mass, and Blue provided a vaccine. Blu Virus gained 2,500 mass, while Green Virus lost 20% mass but gained 20% speed.

- Halloween Event added pumpkin-collection quests, limited equipment sales, and a 5x Triple Coins Ticker.

Classic Mode was the biggest gameplay addition, returning Mitos.is to the era when Sapphire evolution debuted and capping equipment at level 69. The equipment chase expanded through Obsidian gear, while the Mitosis Birthday Event added cake-based achievements, discounts, and limited-time equipment.
- Mode changes: Classic Mode restored the older equipment rules, while Daily Rotation of Game Modes cycled Random Teams, Capture The Flag, Soccer, Territory War, and Human v Zombie. Split Party and King Of The Hill were removed from normal play but remained available in Private Rooms.
- Obsidian equipment: The Equipment Store received a broad run of new gear.
- Obsidian Armor and Jewels arrived alongside the first Obsidian expansion.

Diamond Evolution introduced a new progression tier with a 30% stat bonus, cheaper power-ups, increased experience gains, and access to diamond items. The update also added the 1vs1 mode, the Laboratory potion-crafting system, and a beta Web Version that let players run Mitos.is in a browser.
- New modes and competitive play: 1vs1 launched as a fast-paced duel mode with coin rewards, while Fast Split entered testing. Competitive Play also expanded to solo and party matches that affected personal ratings.
- Progression and equipment:
- Emerald Evolution added a 13% equipment-stat bonus, new emerald items, and the Emerald Jewelry Set.
- Diamond Evolution added diamond equipment, including Diamond Weapons and Armor, Diamond Helmets, Shields, and Boots, and Diamond Shields, Weapons, and Jewels. Its introduction also discounted older evolutions and set the Diamond Evolution price at 9,600 coins.
- Laboratory let players craft potions from ingredients, including legendary potions reserved for Diamond Evolution.
- Guilds and match rules: Guild Features expanded with Guild War co-op, guild-server changes, advertising, guild and friend search, and improved match results. Free For All adopted Party Mode’s rules by removing teaming fatigue, while Crazy Mode became Solo Mode and disabled invites.

Daily Tournaments and Party Mode: Daily Tournaments introduced three scheduled events with a 200-coin ticket fee and awarded 5,000, 3,000, and 2,000 coins to the top three finishers, while places four through 10 received free tickets. Party Mode let invited friends appear on the mini-map without causing teaming fatigue, and Free For All received stronger teaming fatigue to discourage coordinated play.
