The Road to Boruto Expansion launched on February 3, 2017, adding a new story centered on Boruto, the Sasuke-versus-Kinshiki battle, and expanded areas of the Hidden Leaf Village. It also brought seven playable characters, new modes, stages, costumes, and PC support for unlocked 60 FPS.
- Road to Boruto Expansion: Added Boruto, Boruto Scientific Ninja Tool, Sarada, Mitsuki, Naruto 7th Hokage, Sasuke Wandering Shinobi, and Mecha Naruto. Boruto’s Tale, Spectator Mode, and 8-player Endless Mode joined the new stages, costumes, and Hidden Leaf Village areas.
- DLC 3: Sound 4 Ninjas: Launched Tayuya, Jirobo, Kidomaru, and Sakon/Ukon as playable characters, alongside combination secret techniques including Seven Blades of the Blood Mist, Ninja Art: Underworld Formation, and Cold Assault of the Demon Blade. It also added swimsuit costumes for Temari, Tsunade, Sakura, Hinata, and Ino, plus matching voices and Ninja Info Cards.
- Shikamaru’s Tale: Launched as the first post-release story DLC, arriving for Season Pass owners on March 8, 2016, and for other players on March 15. The Road to Boruto update also unlocked 60 FPS on PC, while earlier updates improved Adventure Mode, Online Mode, Combination Secret Techniques, and the Ninja Info Card’s save stability.
