New Save Slot Backup System shipped in May 2015, letting players access up to five previous save points from each save slot. The update also improved PC display and controller handling while removing several progression-blocking problems in Forlorn Ruins, Mount Horu, and Moon Grotto.
- Save recovery: New Save Slot Backup System preserved up to five earlier save points per slot, reducing the risk of being trapped by a bad save location or infinite death loop.
- Progression fixes: The May 2015 update corrected major blockers involving the Light Vessel in Forlorn Ruins, the final door in Mount Horu, Kuro’s Nest, the Glide ability, Charge Jump, and the Elite Achievement. It also fixed Ori falling through ground colliders, getting stuck under lasers in Moon Grotto, and being trapped beneath a stompable wedge in Sunken Glades.
- PC performance and controls: Alt+Tab switching, resolution changes, fullscreen/windowed toggling, multi-monitor fullscreen support, and fullscreen input lag all improved. The update also repaired third-party controller regressions, Windows 10 Xbox One controller movement, controller vibration, DX9 text rendering, and slowdowns in several areas.
- Later bug fixes: The October 2015 patch restored the missing boulder in Sorrow Pass, fixed the missing main menu and upside-down cutscenes, and resolved controller vibration issues.
