Return of the Ancients launched on May 29, 2026, delivering Path of Exile 2’s largest expansion to date with 30 Atlas maps, six endgame storylines, new pinnacle bosses, 40 Unique items, crafting systems, and a redesigned 300-plus-node Atlas Passive Tree. The Last of the Druids also arrived with the Druid class, 21 skills, shapeshifting forms, and the Shaman and Oracle Ascendancies.

  • Return of the Ancients: The expansion added Bodach and the Arbiter of Divinity as pinnacle encounters, the Genesis Tree, new Breach encounters, upgraded Logbook exploration, and the ocean-focused Expedition with Farrow. Fate of the Vaal and the Temple of Atziri also became core endgame content.
  • Druid and new builds: The Druid brought Wolf, Bear, and Wyvern forms, the Spell Totem skill, and 21 new skills. The Huntress and Monk received their final Ascendancies, Spiritwalker and Martial Artist, while Chronomancer and Gemling Legionnaire received build-focused updates.
  • Runes of Aldur: The new league introduced a fresh economy, Kalguuran Runecrafting, Remnant encounters, Kalguuran Gems, Runic Ward, Verisium Runeforging, and Masters of the Atlas. Its content also added a new Atlas Passive Tree, 30 endgame areas, the Ruins of Kingsmarch hub, and swappable Master bonuses.
  • Endgame and progression: The Last of the Druids added Abyssal mechanics to the core game and expanded Atziri’s Temple with Vaal Beacons, Tier 4 rooms, and new Temple progression. Build Guide Integration, Atlas Search, Trade Quick-Search, and the Fragment Tab also streamlined endgame preparation.
  • Events and tuning: Forbidden Rites launched as a fresh-economy event league in September, while The Last of the Druids and Return of the Ancients hosted race events and league challenges. Class and Unique-item balance passes, Delirium damage reductions, improved Remnant rewards, and broad Temple reward changes reshaped combat and endgame efficiency.
