Year 10
Mar 28, 2026 - Sep 27, 2026
Safari Mode for the Watcher campaign launched, opening its regions and creatures to Safari Mode runs and adding Ripple Trees throughout the campaign. The rollout also delivered a visual overhaul for ripple spawns, rebalanced ripple jellies, and adjusted karma flowers around ripple spawn eggs.
- Watcher content: Safari Mode covered the Watcher campaign’s regions and creatures, while Competitive arena mode received more varied Watcher creature spawns. Players who had already completed the Sentient Rot ending also retroactively unlocked the rotted Watcher safari regions.
- Creature and world systems: Ripple spawn pathing improved, and Sky Whales, Frogs, Rats, and multiple frogs attached to larger creatures more reliably. Creature interactions also became more varied, with improved slope collisions, shelled Barnacle avoidance, Weaver Threads visibility, and positioning for Lobe Trees and Bone Shakers.
- Balance and progression: Basilisk Lizards and Blizzard Lizards were nerfed, Yellow Lizard packs stopped treating dead pack members as active, and Loach diets changed. Hunter’s campaign retained Pebbles’ extra cycles correctly, while Artificer’s ending, Watcher’s final ending, Spinning Top’s older-save trigger, and The Prince’s Jolly Co-op dialogue received progression fixes.
- Watcher reliability: The Watcher rollout corrected crashes involving Adult Sand Grubs, Drill Crabs, warp-point creation, Shattered Terrace, PlayStation 4 save loading, Ripple Spiders, and echo encounters with Rain World Remix disabled. It also fixed corrupted warp maps, inaccessible Slugpup shelters, Inv’s campaign music triggers, and several Watcher ending and attunement conditions.
