Master Difficulty and Expedition Mode arrived on November 17 alongside Immersive Mode, a stamina-and-sprint rework, and new anomalies. Earlier, Night Vision Goggles, the Fireball anomaly, and Honta’s “Drahunka” unique weapon expanded the Zone, while Zone Kit Phase 1 gave modders official creation tools.
- New modes and mechanics: Master Difficulty became available for new games, Expedition Mode added a tougher starting experience, and Immersive Mode changed how the Zone was presented. The Stamina and Sprint Rework also reshaped movement, while the Light Rainy Weather Scenario added another environmental variation.
- Zone additions: Night Vision Goggles improved visibility in dark areas, Fireball became a new anomaly, and Honta’s “Drahunka” added a unique weapon to pursue. NPCs also gained the ability to loot mutant corpses.
- A-Life and combat: A-Life NPCs continued advancing toward their goals in Offline mode, roaming NPC encounters became more frequent, and the March updates improved mutant movement, ambushes, reactions to footsteps, and stealth identification. The NPC Vision & Combat Update later reduced enemy accuracy through bushes and improved detection in tall grass.
