Jaws of Oblivion landed with 82 collectible cards, Daedric forces, and the new Invade mechanic, which let players build Oblivion Gates before opponents destroyed them. Moons of Elsweyr also arrived with 77 cards and the Wax and Wane and Consume mechanics, while Skooma Cat’s Playthings added 20 reward-bearing puzzles.

  • Major expansions: Moons of Elsweyr introduced Khajiit cards, Pilfer interactions, preconstructed Theme Decks, a new playmat, and expansion packs; Jaws of Oblivion added Daedra, two Theme Decks, new card backs, six music tracks, 14 titles, and 18 quests.
  • New mechanics and content: Wax and Wane tied card abilities to Tamriel’s lunar phases, while Consume let players remove cards from the discard pile for effects and added Imbued creatures designed around that interaction. Wandering Skeleton, Old Salty’s Assault, Sentinel Reclaimer, and Apprentice Necromancer expanded the card pool through monthly rewards and follow-up releases.
  • Events and competition: The Events system returned with rotating activities, including Rumble Gauntlet, while the Masters Series returned at QuakeCon 2019 with a $50,000 prize pool. Dual Spectator Mode also let tournament viewers see both players’ hands.
  • Balance and Arena changes: The Major Balance Change Update retuned cards including Transitus Shrine and Dawnbreaker, followed by changes to Alfiq Conjurer, Luzrah gro-Shar, Hunter-Killers, Inspiring Kinsman, Soulburst, Pact Shieldbearer, Renowned Instructor, and Mantikora. Arena increased the appearance rates of Jaws of Oblivion and Moons of Elsweyr cards and guaranteed a broader mix of dual-attribute, triple-attribute, and random class choices.
  • Access and presentation: Quickplay added a direct route to the last saved play mode, while the redesigned exterior menus and expanded Chat Window functionality improved navigation and communication. Revised Wax and Wane animations and new Jaws of Oblivion visual effects also tightened the presentation.
