The Arms of the East Battle Pass launched on May 6, 2024, introducing Toribash’s new gameplay-based reward track alongside a purchasable Premium tier. Toribash also released Traveller Saga: Chapter II, brought cross-platform multiplayer to iOS, and substantially expanded ranked play and modding tools.
- Arms of the East: The Battle Pass offered gameplay-earned rewards, Premium rewards, the Kusarigama and Tekko-Kagi 3D items, and the returning Ruby color.
- Traveller Saga and iOS: Traveller Saga: Chapter II continued the Traveler’s story through a mixed martial arts championship, while the iOS launch brought Toribash to iPhone and iPad with cross-platform multiplayer.
- Universal Mod Rankings: Universal Mod Rankings returned with qualification matches, Elo-based rank tiers, Green Belt eligibility, monthly ranked climbs, and rewards including ToriCredits, Shiai Tokens, and unique comic effects.
- Modding and presentation tools: The Revamped Mod Browser added a reorganized Mods Directory, while New Lua Vector Classes introduced Vector2 and Vector3. The Reworked First-Person Camera View added wider field of view and optional smoothing, and new Lua flame-management functions expanded scripting control.
- Events and progression: Spooky Run, Free Run Frenzy 6, Free Run Frenzy 7, Ski Race, Frosty Kickoff, Hockey Slot, Floor is Lava 4, and Opener Challenge 9 supplied rotating objectives and rewards. Quests gained rotating mods, improved XP distribution, and better-scaled Auto-Tourney rewards, while public lobbies added rotating mods and new rooms such as ninjutsu, rk, sparkytkd, and fეarkido.

Toribash Ranking Season 7 launched on March 10, 2022, adding a refreshed Elo ladder from “Elo Hell” to Diamond, rank-farming penalties, Elo decay, and exclusive rewards such as the Corrupted Rose Tori. The In-game Market and Item Effects expanded Toribash’s trading and customization systems, while new multiplayer options and AI rooms broadened its ways to fight.
- Ranked competition: Toribash Ranking Season 7 ranked players across new Elo tiers, with Elo decay affecting inactive Platinum and Diamond players and rank-farming penalties resetting Elo or triggering bans. Exclusive Rewards for Top Ranked Players included Toricredits, Shiai Tokens, and the Corrupted Rose Tori, while the Ivy color came from Season 7 quests.
- Trading economy: The In-game Market introduced player-to-player item sales, purchase requests, lower prices, and exclusive inventory unavailable in the regular store. The Market Sale Feature also let players list items directly from the inventory menu.
- Customization and scripting: Item Effects let players fuse effects into Force, Relax, Primary Gradient, and Head Texture items. The Item customize screen added texture uploads, effect and level controls, and in-game previews; Lua Scripting Updates raised the texture limit to 384 and added BitOp support and new drawing functions.
- Modes and multiplayer: Free Play gained 3/4 Player Mode Support through the Gamerules menu, backed by a new physics simulation mode for crowded spawns. Three AI Fight rooms introduced bots powered by DecapAI, while the rk-mma.tbm mod added lighter gravity, a lower dismember threshold, a longer DQ timeout, and a smaller dojo.
- Events and infrastructure: Wipeout Warrior, Flash Course 3, Floor is Lava 3, and the Winter Holiday Season Event delivered obstacle courses, checkpoint challenges, replay contests, and item rewards. Toribash also migrated multiplayer functionality to New Game Servers, alongside major backend updates that improved multi-core performance and reduced CPU load.

Mod Mania 2020 was the year’s biggest gameplay addition, turning rotating mods into weekly championships with Boxshu Mushu, Aikido(ish), Judo, and Lenshu competitions, community challenges, and prizes. Toribash Season Pass 2020 also launched as a collectible account upgrade, while the Toribash World Championship 2019 and Opener Challenge series added structured competitive targets.
- Competitive events: Toribash expanded its event lineup with several named tournaments and replay challenges.
- Mod Mania 2020 rotated through Boxshu Mushu, Aikido(ish), Judo, and Lenshu formats, with weekly rewards, global goals, and leaderboard prizes.
- Toribash World Championship 2019 was announced with a single-elimination structure, paid entry, and best-of-5 through best-of-11 rounds.
- Opener Challenges 4, 5, and 6 asked players to edit premade openers and keep Uke airborne or achieve dismemberment goals for Toricredits and Shiai Tokens.
- Match economy: Fight Winnings Scaling increased rewards from streak 3 onward, while Betting System Enhancements added automatic payback and refunds. Post-Fight Message Improvements also displayed earned Qi and Toricredits more clearly.
- Replay and platform systems: Movememory received a scrollable opener list, protected-mode data handling, and better focus behavior. Steam Cloud Update for Replays synchronized saved replays across devices, and 64-bit macOS Support moved out of beta for Catalina and later.
- Customization and rewards: Ectoplasm Tori, Spear Gallery, Mini Pond, Grandmaster’s Beard, Straw Hat, Spooky Spider, Sumo Hair, and Old Eastern Hair expanded Torishop’s 3D item selection. Movember added the upgradeable Moustache and limited Krakenstache, while World Championship Collectors Cards offered another way to support fighters and earn prize Toricredits.

Toribash Ranking Season 6 launched with an Elo-based ladder, six rank tiers from Elo Hell to Diamond, ranked quests, and ranked access for Brown Belt players and above. Hole in the Wall introduced automated single-player events with rewards, while Toribash Quests added repeatable mini-tasks for Toricredits and items.
- Ranked competition: Season 5 established the three-season ranking format, rank-based rewards, and a 10-game qualification requirement before Season 6 expanded the system with Elo ratings, ranked matchmaking, new tiers, and ranked quests.
- Single-player and progression: Hole in the Wall added replay-based challenges, including Challenge #2, while the remade Tutorials gained Steam achievements and a reward for completing the 500K punching task. The Bo Staff also became the first public upgradeable 3D item, with three upgrade levels.
- Client overhaul: The Complete UI Overhaul rebuilt the main menu, inventory, settings, shaders, mods, and tutorials. MoveMemory, Atmospheres, the new Mod Selection Menu, and direct in-client inventory management added more control over moves, visuals, and items.
- Community tools: Community Replays Browser let players upload, browse, rate, and search replays with tags, while the Friends List replaced the Buddy system and Clans 2.0 improved clan access and filtering. Steam Cloud Sync stored login data, friends lists, and modmaker work.
- Events and rewards: Toribash’s Most Wanted Halloween Event added player bounties and Halloween rewards, while World Championship 2018, Clan League 2018, Steampunk Month, and Prehistoric Month brought tournaments, clan competition, themed items, and limited-time rewards.

Ranking Season 2 launched with a major competitive overhaul: Toribash replaced raw ELO with five tiers—Elo Hell, Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum—plus 10 qualification fights and tier notifications. Ranking Season 3 followed with new rewards and features, while the Diamond tier raised the ceiling for top-ranked players.
- Competitive progression: Season 2 added ranked tiers, qualification fights, and Matchmaking boosters, while Diamond arrived in Season 3 and ranked wins began granting 5 Clan XP. The Updated Betting System also kept wagers in rooms when players disconnected or left.
- Customization drops: Toribash expanded its item catalog with several named sets and limited-edition items.
- Space Items added the Antenna, Raygun, Jetpack, Space Helmet, U.F.O., and a full Space items box, alongside the Astro limited-edition color.
- Skeletal Tori and Tori Pirate 3D Set brought new Shiai and pirate-themed equipment.
- July Promo Pack included the Muay Thai Legend 3D Set, Sifu Beard, Platinum Force, Warrior Relax, and 36,000 Toricredits.
- Clans and player progression: Blue and Red beginner clans gave new players clearer ways to find opponents and learn the game. Daily Login Rewards paid up to 2,100 Toricredits plus a Shiai Token across a week, while Clan Information, Clan Roster, and Clan List features exposed clan stats, members, and recruitment tools.
- Client features: New Main Menu Interface introduced an optional redesigned menu, and the updated client added custom player sounds, custom GUI textures, account information in the top bar, and ranking details on the matchmaking screen. New Clan UI followed with a broader clan-management redesign.
- Seasonal events: The Halloween Event transformed official rooms into a graveyard and added themed items, while Christmas Mods brought snow effects to belt-restricted rooms. ToriLottery also returned with Cobra Pack and Demon Pack prizes.

Seasonal Ranking System reshaped Toribash’s competitive loop, replacing monthly resets and daily Rank 1 rewards with three-month seasons, end-of-season prizes, and first-to-three ranked fights. The changes also delivered the Cyborg full-body customization set and a revamped Shiai Tokens economy.
- Seasonal Ranking System: Seasonal rankings replaced monthly rank resets, while the Top 100 received end-of-season Toricredits and unique 3D items instead of daily Rank 1 rewards.
- Ranked Matchmaking: The New Matchmaking System reduced waiting and improved opponent selection through ranked and unranked queues, a new matchmaking server, and clearer player-search counts.
- Ranked Matches: Players could not choose ranked mods; three mods rotated monthly, public ranked rooms were removed, and ranked fights used a best-of-five format.
- Brown Belt Restriction: Ranked fights were limited to players who could stay on their feet for more than 50 frames.
- May Ranking Mode Update: The rotation added greykido.tbm, rk-mma.tbm, and erthtkv2.tbm.
- Cyborg: The full-body customization set released in Torishop with bonus Demon Force, Demon Gradients, Demon Torso, Cobra Relax, Adamantium Blood, and Adamantium Ghost items.
- Shiai Tokens: The Revamped Shiai Tokens system retired old tokens, introduced replacements, and added new rewards.
- Player-Facing Content: Steam Trading Cards added collectible cards, backgrounds, and emoticons, while Wildfire, Blossom, Hawk, and Boreal expanded Toribash’s color lineup.
- Torishop Models: New models, premade head textures, full texture sets, and flame designs expanded customization options.
- Fight Uke: The updated tutorial added more mods, openers, and a current beginner lobby; the Basic Training Tutorial also received an update.

Seishin Subscription arrived on March 31, 2015, adding a combat-affecting subscription that made players harder to dismember while increasing punch and kick damage. The Completely new Torishop overhaul also reshaped shopping, while Mod Showcase began spotlighting community creations such as Full Tilt and Mirrors Edge Parkour.
- Seishin: The Seishin subscription entered testing in Torishop for 1 TC and changed combat by improving dismemberment resistance and kick and punch damage.
- Torishop commerce: The Completely new Torishop introduced broader shop functionality, including Steam Wallet purchases, mod search, folders for mods and replays, and indicators for Qi and TC requirements. Torishop Update: New Functionality also exposed USD-priced items regardless of belt or Qi restrictions, while Return of Packs with Discount brought packs back at 50% off.
- New items: Mullet, Geta L, and Geta R joined the shop, alongside Blindfold, Punkspikes, and Bunny Ears. New Christmas Items Added to Shop introduced Santa’s Hat, Elven Hat, Candy Cane, and Rudolph Nose and Antlers, while Santa Hat and Santa Beard Return brought back the older holiday items.
- Mod Showcase: The first Mod Showcase featured seven community mods: M.A.S Training Platform, Unity Street, Berserk Clan, Mirrors Edge Parkour, Full Tilt, Alien Invasion, and Pinball Machine. The Replay Challenge on Full Tilt also rewarded stylish replays made on tr_full_tilt.tbm.
- Seasonal events: Halloween Festivities 2014 included the Eerie Disguise Event and Monthly Opener Challenge: Spooky Scary Edition, while Christmas Lottery added ticket-based prizes. The Geta Challenge Event gave players another way to earn the new Geta items.
