Nation Pack: Italy was released on August 29, 2024, adding Italy as a standalone NATO nation with 104 units, 19 new models, new voice acting, and upgraded versions of existing assets. It arrived alongside a Ranked Mode reboot and a major balance update, making it the largest content shake-up in the window.
- Italian arsenal: Nation Pack: Italy added a broad roster of infantry, aircraft, helicopters, and ground vehicles.
- Italian infantry included FANTERIA DI LINEA, LAGUNARI, MARÒ, PARACADUTISTI, and ALPINI.
- The air wing added F-104G, F-104S, Tornado A-200, AB.205 CMDO, and CH-47C LOGISTICO.
- Ground forces gained systems such as OF-40 OTOMATIC, SIDAM 25, SPADA ASPIDE, FIROS-25, and M270 MLRS.
- Competitive play: Ranked Mode and its leaderboards were rebooted alongside Nation Pack: Italy, resetting the competitive structure around the new nation.
- Balance changes: Nation Pack: Italy included a major across-the-board balance update; the September balance pass raised the South Korean F-4D PEACE PHEASANT I from 90 to 100 points and reduced its availability from 0/3/0/0/0 to 0/2/0/0/0.
- Presentation and personalization: Nation Pack: Italy upgraded many existing vehicle models and added new Italian voice acting. The Enlist in the Italian Army initiative also let players submit a name for possible use as an in-game squad leader.

Nation Pack: South Africa released on September 30, 2021, adding the South African Defence Force with nearly 90 units and 20 new vehicle models. It arrived alongside a major balance overhaul and a broad roster of new aircraft, helicopters, armor, infantry, and weaponry.
- Nation Pack: South Africa: The SADF became available with units such as Bokkop riflemen, Parabat paratroopers, SASF special forces, Olifant tanks, Rooikat wheeled tanks, and the G6 Renoster self-propelled howitzer.
- The pack also added the Rooivalk attack helicopter, Alouette III, Super Frelon, Puma, Buccaneer S.Mk.50, Mirage F1, Cheetah, Vampire, and Canberra aircraft.
- New weapons included the R1 and R4 rifles, SS-77 machine gun, Y2 grenade-launcher, and Afrikaans and South African-accented English voice-overs.
- South African air and ground roles: The SAAF received the Cheetah D wild-weasel aircraft, CL.13B Sabre Mk.6 and Impala Mk II close-air-support planes, and the Buccaneer S.Mk.50 with AS.30 anti-tank missiles. SADF reconnaissance, anti-aircraft, artillery, and tank-destroyer options included the Eland 90, Rooikat 76, Ystervark, Cactus, Ratel ZT3-A1, and Ferret Mk2.
- September 30 balance patch: The update retuned the wider roster while adjusting the Yugoslav Nora-B to fire smoke rounds, standardizing M40 RCL jeep ammunition, and changing prices or availability for units such as the British FV107 Scimitar, Yugoslav M-84, American M60A1 ERA, and Commonwealth deck.
- July balance pass: The game also revised the Metys-M, N-62M Super Galeb, M-84 tank series, Basic T-72, Finnish MiG-29 9.13, British Challenger 2, French Leclerc, and several coalition decks, while adding the South Korean K1 to the Marine deck and the East German LStR-40 to the Mechanized deck.

Nation Pack: South Africa arrived on April 15, 2021, bringing the South African Defence Force’s late-Cold War arsenal to Wargame: Red Dragon. Its close to 90 new SADF units added 20 vehicle models, fresh infantry, aircraft, helicopters, and locally built weapons, including the G6-45 Rhino self-propelled howitzer.
- Nation Pack: South Africa: Added the SADF as a playable arsenal, covering its forces at the end of the Border War and Cold War.
- SADF infantry: Introduced Bokkop riflemen, Parabat paratroopers, SASF special forces, and other South African infantry.
- SADF vehicles: Added the Olifant tank, Rooikat 105mm and Rooikat ZA HVM, plus Casspir and Ratel variants.
- G6-45 Rhino: Introduced the 155mm self-propelled howitzer to the SADF artillery roster.
- South African air forces: Added Buccaneer, Vampire, Impala, Mirage variants, and the locally modified Cheetah.
- SADF helicopters: Added the Alouette III, Puma, Super Frelon, and Rooivalk attack helicopter.
- SADF weaponry: Introduced the R1 and R4 rifles, SS-77 machine gun, NTW-20 sniper rifle, and additional South African anti-tank weapons.
- South African voice work: Gave the new SADF units Afrikaans and South African-accented English voice-overs.
